It's Monday, January 30th and that means only one thing, dear readers: BAT FIT CHALLENGE # 4. Are you ready?
In the past month I've read so many comments from Bat Fitters that basically talked about their failures instead of their accomplishments along this health quest. I've also read lots and lots of people beat themselves up for doing something that they weren't proud of, or not forgive themselves for screwing up. I certainly can't and won't be judgmental about this type of behavior because I'm no better. I'm my own worst boss: demanding that I work 12 hours or more and won't take no for an answer. I never forgive myself for screwing up. I don't cut myself slack and I don't give myself a much needed rest. Most importantly, I am super critical when it comes to myself and my work. Instead of celebrating the things that I've done, I find the bad stuff and stuff that needed to change ... and dwell on that.
Bat Fitters, challenge #4 is to be good to yourself. Yep, sounds easy doesn't it? But this is going to be a really hard challenge for many of us. You absolutely must try to forgive yourself. You can't be super critical of yourself, your work and what you do. And you need to cut yourself some slack and be proactive in your life. You also need to celebrate yourself and the good stuff that you do everyday. And you must do something FOR YOURSELF once a day. That's right, do something for YOU that YOU like to do. Bubble baths, reading, taking a nap ... anything for yourself.
Good luck and remember to post your progress.

My workout has gone very well and I feel good! My body fitness has gone better and I am very proud of myself!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Congrats! Keep up the good work darling!
Deletelet us keep in mind that there is no such thing as "failure"...only experiences along the way. If there is an undesirable experience, then we have learned from this, and it is therefore, not a waste, nor a failure, but something valuable.
ReplyDeleteHear! Hear! I wholeheartedly agree!
Deletedo something for myself sounds like the most difficult bat fit challenge that i could think of *blushes* (and i think i'm not the only one who thinks this way?!)
ReplyDeleteso... umm... but i think i could go with reading while being wrapped into a waaaaarm blanket, since i bought a new book this month that i haven't touched since then!
(oh and btw, i'm proud, i only skipped two days of 'not touching the snooze button and dance instead'. these two days i will forget about because i was in a really bad mood from what had happened in real life. will definitely continue this!)
good luck to all bat fitters :-P enjoy your lifes!
You SHOULD be proud! That's awesome. I find this challenge to be extremely hard as well. I'm struggling with keeping with a schedule and cutting myself some slack. BIG TIME. Carving out time for myself to do something fun isn't that easy either ... ah well.
DeleteSounds easy...enough.We'll see Haha.Up untill now I've been doing pretty good.
