Bat Fit 2012: Challenge 2

Happy New Year to all of you!!! I've been offline since Thursday, December 29 and was completely overwhelmed, amazed, honored, and floored by the wonderful responses BatFit 2012 has gotten. Holy smokes!!! Before I post the second challenge I want to welcome all of you to my blog and to this goal in particular. As many of you know, BatFit started with me simply posting that I wished to get back into shape and to loose 40 pounds by my 40th birthday in June. I asked "who's with me?" and much to my surprise many of you responded. Before I knew it BatFit was born!

I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful health goal and I'm extremely grateful that I don't have to do this alone! :) No matter what your goals are and where you see yourself at the end of this year, it's nice to have a group of like-minded spooky folks to do this challenge with you! Thanks for joining in and I look forward to reading about everyone's progress, etc.

Challenge 2: DANCE YOUR ASS OFF!

Wahoo! That's right, you're challenge is to dance to VNV Nation, XP8, or any other stompy band for no less than 20 minutes EVERY DAY for the next two weeks ... or more. Heck, why not include dancing in your daily exercise? How much fun would that be?!? I want to see all of you dance yourselves silly -- remember NO ONE IS WATCHING so take this opportunity to add some cool moves to your already awesome dancing. SWEAT! Laugh! SWEAT some more!!! And remember, have fun!

Stay tuned for my answer to the meaning of good health and how it relates to my goals tomorrow. I'm going to post pictures of the inside of my journal.

Five things I'm grateful for:
1. the opportunity to spend a quiet and relaxing weekend with my hubby in Salem/Boston (we went to Boston's First Night);
2. the OK to finally write my dissertation ... this is going to be an awesome year;
3. my family;
4. this blog. Seriously, I am grateful to be in contact with such creative and awesome people;
5. the opportunity to do what I love for a living.

  1. Awesome. I actually started doing this a while ago but have slacked off a bit. My daughter and I have a "dance party" in the living room. She likes Covenant the best. (she's two) ;)

  6. Haha nice one! I'm starting next week again with my 5 week course of 2 hour gothic belly dance. Hard work! And I need to excercise anyway so that won't be much of a problem :D

  7. I love dance work out! My cat and I danced to music from Tangled (thanks for the tip, TropigothMama!) and I even cleaned up a bit in the process. Lovely idea! ^^

  9. Great idea! :) It seems that I dance like drunk people (really...) but what the hell, I like it and I have a great playlist ^^ it could be some sort of cardio exercise!

  10. I think today will definitely be a VNV ... maybe some old Covenant. Tenebris suggested a while back that we post our workout mix. Maybe I'll work on a workout list and will post it over on the side bar. :D
