| Le Professeur Gothique ready for the second of the holiday parties with the RPG crew |
I've had the song "Santa Baby" stuck in my head for a few days now. It proved to be a wonderful inspiration for my outfit. I decided to wear my hair in Victory Rolls with a high, bouncy ponytail topped by a bow. I curled my bangs with a curling iron and proceeded to apply retro-inspired makeup. Of course any retro look needs some fake eyelashes and a healthy application of red lipstick! :)
You've seen this dress before a number of times. I usually wear it with some kind of flat shoe or my boots. I VERY RARELY wear heels because I have an arthritic toe that is unbearable in heels. The pain is right in the spot that ones weight falls while wearing heels, so you can imagine how difficult it is to wear heels like the ones I'm wearing above. I sucked it up and took some Advil. Thankfully I was sitting for most of the evening, walking was quite painful, but hell! sometimes a gal has to suffer to look adorable. I think this look is a winner for Christmas Eve dinner at my brother's ... sans heels. I think I'll swap them for a low kitten heel instead.
It's amazing to me how much I look like my Mom's family when I wear my hair up like this. My Mom called me "Betty" last night -- my Grandma's name. I have a feeling ol' Grammy would be thrilled to see this look. She was quite a character and very free-spirited so it's an honor to be compared to her.

ReplyDeleteThe victory rolls are a perfect match for that dress. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI just contemplated buying those stockings at target yesterday evening. Love how they look! And the shoes! Yes, fashion can be about pain sometimes. They look killer (pun totally intended). Beautiful ensemble!
ReplyDeleteluvvv the shoes.......
ReplyDeleteElectrobat: Aw, thanks sweetie!
ReplyDeleteSal: :) I live with the biggest RPGer and he was the one who got me involved with his group. It's too bad you don't live closer, we'd snatch you up in a nanosecond! MUAH!
Trystan: *blush* Thanks!
Lynoire: Right now we are doing a superhero game -- D20. Ed and I will be co-GMing a Vampire the Masquerade in the spring.
mksiny: HAHAHAHA! Shoes of torture! Thanks!!!!
Sabayon: Thanks! I finally figured out how to do them without much fuss. The secret is to leave your hair damp and only dry the roots. Copious amounts of hair spray is a must too.
Unlacing the Victorians: hehehehe .. indeed they are killer. A little Aspercreme and all is right with the world. Thanks!
DeeSpookyOne: aw, thanks!!!
Oh, you can't imagine how much I'd love that! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute!
ReplyDeleteSal: Awww ... I have a pretty good idea. Hey, if you're ever in my neck of the woods let me know. I'll have Ed run a one shot. ;) Bring your dice!
ReplyDeleteNatalie: Thanks darling!
Wooo! That hair style was made for you. So sad that your feet were in pain, but WOW did they look adorable!! :)
ReplyDeleteVictorianKitty: Aw, thanks! Before the arthritic toes those shoes were very comfortable. Ah well, once in a while is ok. I have to post a photo of my grammy with the same hair style! Hehehe ... talk about taking after someone. :)
