| Le Professeur Gothique's Sparkly Friday |
I wore my summer weight wool pants from Coldwater Creek, a cowl neck, sleeveless, sequined blouse topped by my lace "cardigan." A comfy pair of patent leather loafers allowed me the mobility and ease of standing on my feet to teach for three hours, followed by a couple of hours of transferring subway lines and walking many city blocks. I probably should have worn my hair pulled up because it was in my face all day and sticking to my neck because I was very warm.
| My breakfast: all natural peanut butter and cranberry chutney on whole wheat, cinnamon raisin bread |
I jump started my 40x40 Quest last week by dancing to VNV in my living room for 20 minutes, followed by a series of crunches, push-ups, and light weight training. I've been walking like crazy -- mostly in Manhattan -- and taking the stairs every chance I can get. I've cut my portions and added whole foods to my diet. For breakfast on Friday I made myself a peanut butter and cranberry chutney sandwich, using a whole wheat, cinnamon raisin bread. YUMMO! I also packed my own coffee so that I knew exactly how much sugar and skim milk was in it. My breakfast kept me going until I settled down for lunch around 3:30 pm -- a bowl of borscht at Veselka's in the East Village.
While at the tattoo studio I indulged in a whim ... well ok, it wasn't really a whim because I was thinking about it for over a year. I re-pierced all of my earring holes (5 on the left side, 6 on the right) and had the piercer put small seamless hoops in holes number 3-5 and then 6. I also had my nose re-pierced. Yup, I had a nose ring for some time but took it out because of some complications. The piercer moved the hole up a little and put a small diamond stud in it. Photos will follow in my next post.

Snowflake necklace and earring set: a gift from my sister
I'm excited about seeing your piercings!
ReplyDeleteI only got three in one ear and one in the other.
Sometimes I think about getting more but I don't really want to feel the pain again. I'm a coward sometimes.
Well, I didn't eat very healthy today and I feel so bad about it. :(
The only food I consider not to be crap was that piece of French cheese I had a while ago... afterwards, I had a small bowl of chips... :(
That Lace-sweater thing is adorable.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Goth heath thing,I've been runnning one my tred-mill a mile everyday.I also have been using a sit-up/pull up bar,and I've I made my walk with my dogs MUCH longer. And I've been eating better.Which is hard, since my neighbor owns a restaurant, and shes has been bringing leftover donuts to the house....
ALL your holes, all at once? Lawd, I hope you sleep on your back, or you're going to have an uncomfy few days. I do circular barbells in most of my superfluous head holes. All the comfort of continuous hoops, but you can change them out without pliers. And they often have fancy little ball ends.
ReplyDeleteSal: I'm a bit of a coward when it comes to piercings, too. I can sit for tattoos without much fuss, but getting a hole in my body *shudder*. That's why I was "thinking about it" for a year or so. hehehe ... I decided on Friday to do it before I chickened out. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't beat yourself up with eating unhealthy. Everyone needs a treat! Besides, small portions are key. Never, ever deprive yourself! And stop being so strict! Food should be loved and enjoyed ... in small amounts. ;)
Under The Stairs: Thanks! WOW! You've jump started this Healthy Living thing big time! AWESOME!!! Donuts? Oh man. Hey, maybe you can have half a donut? Give the other half to someone else in the family. That way you can have a treat without over doing it.
Tante: I know, stupid idea. The first night sleeping was a real challenge to say the least. I have a hard time sleeping on my back because of my hip, which has been out since last week. It's starting to ease up and I'm getting more sleep. My nose is healing nicely too.
I actually don't plan on changing the hoops. I wanted something in the holes because they look really weird all unfilled, so small hopes were good. My nose will be a different story once it heals. ;)
